I was treated at Total Health Associates for muscular problems over the course of 4 months, during which time I gained a great deal of insight into my condition and how to ameliorate it. I was seen primarily by physical therapist Jennifer Collard, who is fantastic: professional and very friendly, and also extremely knowledgeable. She gave me a lot of practical advice that I have been able to incorporate into my everyday life, and as a result, not only am I better, I no longer need to receive regular treatment. The office itself is very clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. There is generally no wait when you schedule an appointment as they strictly adhere to session times. This is perhaps the only negative thing: if you miss an appointment or are unable to cancel ahead of time, you will be charged (insurance will not pay for this charge).

Dr. Jones and his treatment providers are top notch, and his office staff are the best! I’ve been a patient for years and cant imagine going somewhere else!

In October of 2013, I threw my neck out severely just from hitting it on a desk when reaching for keys that I had dropped on the floor. I have had neck issues for about 15 years after tearing a trapezius muscle in grad school. However, this was by far the worst that it had gone out for many years and significantly impaired my ability to do much of anything. Worse, I had just relocated to Northern NJ and not being able to turn my head while driving was both scary and dangerous.

After suffering with extreme pain when trying to turn and muscle spasms from favoring my neck for a week with no improvement, I decided to try to see if a chiropractor could help. I didn’t want to “wait and see” as I had in the past when I first injured my neck as it had taken me over a year to get to a mostly pain free status when I had hurt it previously and it had tended to “go out” whenever I did certain exercises or was overly stressed anyways. I thought that a chiropractor might help because a friend of a friend had given me a “mini-adjustment” when he saw me struggling with neck pain at my friend’s wedding. As that adjustment had done as much, or even more, good  than the 3 months of physical therapy I had undergone with the original injury, I was willing to try anything that might speed up the healing process.

After 2 weeks of no improvement since hitting my head, I had started searching the web for local chiropractic businesses and found Total Health Chiropractic. When I called them after a particularly painful drive home from work (a muscle spasm when driving home from work had almost caused an accident), the staff at Total Health Chiropractic was fantastic. Jacquie was able to schedule me an appointment for the next day and was very helpful when I called to follow up about whether I needed to bring any specific items with me and as to their fragrance policy etc. Dr Jones continued that experience by completely explaining what he intended to do immediately to give me some relief, and what his long term plan would be.

My neck wasn’t cured overnight, but each visit brought relief and demonstrated noticeable results with improved movement. After 2 months though, my neck was pain free, but more importantly, I had significantly improved movement and flexibility in compared with the past decade. I’m finding it to be a welcome change to not plan my work outs or yard work with an eye towards “how would my neck going out affect future travel or work plans.” Moreover, based on this positive experience, I now know that I’m not fated to experience the same chronic back pain that I’ve seen my parents and other family members suffer from.*

I busted up my shoulder (labral tear) lifting weights. My Orthopedic doctor told me the ultimate fix would be surgery but after four weeks of PT with Dr. Jones and Staff the pain was gone. I was very reluctant to go to a chiropractor.  I didn’t want to be one of those people who spent years getting “adjusted”.  However, my sciatica was so bad that I wasn’t able to sleep at night.  My orthopedist wanted to put me on the “Advil diet”, but I didn’t want to go through that again.  So, I checked with my health plan to find a local chiropractor who was covered by my insurance.  When I called the office, the person who answered was very friendly and professional.  There were no problems making an appointment.  Dr. Jones has a website that allowed me to complete all of my paperwork online, so I wouldn’t have to waste any time on my first visit.  His office is modern and clean.  His receptionist is exceptionally friendly.  Having dealt with so many doctors’ offices with rude and uncooperative staffs, she was a breath of fresh air.  Dr. Jones has a great personality.  He’s open and very easy to speak with.  We discussed my symptoms and he explained to me his recommended course of action.  After two sessions, my back pain was gone and we’ve now started to work on my hip pain.  My initial concern that he would want me to spend “years” going was unfounded.  Based on my progress, he expects me to be done in a matter of a few weeks.  I recommend Dr. Jones without reservation.*

Dr Stephen Jones is the most professional thorough chiropractor I have ever seen. I have been using chiropractic since 1979 and Dr Jones is the best. His staff consists of a physical therapist, acupuncturist, massage therapist and office staff. Truly a pleasure to work with.*

Doctor Jones is a fantastic chiropractor and an all around great person. I, my fiance, and my step daughter have all gone to see him and he’s not only taken his time to explain what he is about to do and why the adjustment works/helps and what his aim is, but then does an excellent job with the adjustment, fully customizing each session to what is needed for each individual patient. I initially saw him when I could barely walk due to having not gotten an adjustment for several years and aggravated my condition due to travel and sitting in a cramped airline seat, but now go semi-regularly at the first sign of problems. I first went to see Dr. Jones after an appointment with an Ear, Nose and Throat Specialist and being told that my 16-month old son needed to get tubes in his ears.  Devin had had fluid in his ears for about four and a half months and I was told that his hearing was becoming affected.  I decided to take Devin to see Dr. Jones after hearing many positive stories about chiropractic work clearing children’s ears.  The most amazing part of my experience came just after the first adjustment.  My son Devin had only begun walking three weeks prior and I thought it was normal for him to be falling so much and to seem so unbalanced.  Dr Jones noticed it immediately and felt that his equilibrium was off.  Devin had his first adjustment that day and amazingly walked much more steadily from that moment on!  He wobbled much less and fell less frequently.  I was truly astonished!

We continued to visit a few times a week for the next 3-4 weeks, during which time I cancelled Devin’s surgical procedure.  I was a little anxious about cancelling, but really felt that he wasn’t going to need it.  After about one month of treatment, I had Devin’s ears checked and they were clear!  It is difficult to explain the wide range of emotion I felt: relief, joy, excitement, gratitude…

Dr Jones is amazing. I use to get stiff necks often. It would take me many visits to feel better. One visit with Dr Jones and I am good as new! He also doesn’t pressure you to come 2-3 times a week. There is no obligation. I go as needed. He takes my insurance and he is very accommodating.*

In April 2008, I suffered a back injury, with pain so severe I had to go to the emergency room. A few days later, I visited Dr. Steve for the first time. After a couple of weeks of adjustments and other treatments, incuding electrical stimulation, Dr. Steve told me that he wasn’t satisfied with my rate of progress and sent me for an MRI.

The MRI revealed a lot of damage to my lower back including worn, herniated discs, nerve damage and arthritis. With this information in hand, Dr. Steve recommended that I see an orthopedic surgeon. I respected the fact that Dr. Steve encouraged me to seek treatment elsewhere once he became aware of the specific damage to my spine. The orthopedic surgeon advised against surgery and told me that chiropractic care would be a necessary part of my treatment plan. I returned to Dr. Steve, he adjusted (no pun intended) his treatment plan for me and I began to improve.

My back will never be healed but the chiropractic treatments have increased my mobility, strength and helps lessen the chronic pain. Because of the work Dr. Steve and I have done together and the commitment we have both made to my recovery, not even a year later, I have been able to attend Yoga and Tai Chi classes and continue to work with Dr. Steve. He has always been truthful and supportive, which I appreciate. I have never doubted for a moment that he puts my best interests and care first. Chiropractic care will be a part of my lfe for the rest of my life, my only regret is that i didn’t start years earlier.
